I would have gone 3.5 stars, if I could. I did like it, and the author did a fabulous job of making me hate the character of Zane. I would have liked to see a bit more, though. Maybe more bonding between the two boys, maybe more insight into the possible family bonds of a bigfoot, maybe more into the history of the lands and the native tribe who owned it, and maybe Owen not such a pacifist (the one flashback scene didn’t quite satisfy, if anything it seems it should have cured his extremism). Overall, though, a different, and pleasant, take on a old legend.
