The Curse Merchant.
Just a fun story with an enjoyable protagonist. I don’t usually care for things written in first person, but Dorian is truly likeable; his actions are understandable and he is someone easy to be sympathetic to. The workings of magic in this world are cohesive. Editing is great, I didn’t see anything in the way of technical errors. I would actually love to see another book with more of his background in it, perhaps growing up, or his training days with Emil, or even cases he had taken on earlier in his career.
Thank you so much for reading! If you’re interested in one of Dorian’s early capers, you can find the short story “Bait & Witch” in the Curiosity Quills Chronology anthology. It takes place several years prior to the events of Curse Merchant, just after Dorian hung his shingle as a charm maker.
I will look into it, I saw Bait and Witch and the 2nd Curse book, which I will look into getting…although I didn’t see Bait and Witch on Amazon? Also, if you read fantasy at all, I have my own book out there, A Break in the Balance, first of a series of 4. But seriously, I look forward to more Dorian. Prosperous writing to you!
