Another teeny weeny peek at Undead Oz

“Oh, dear,” said Dawthy. “Is this the only way to the City of Shattered Opals? Even if there is a way around, Wollinda said to stay on the road. She never mentioned a haunted forest.”
“Because it’s a lot of tripe.”
“Is it?” Even with her metal face, Tinna managed to look alarmed. “How can you be so sure?”
“Everything in the Land Down Under is dead. By Dawthy’s definition, the whole place is haunted. What could possibly be in there to frighten the likes of us? Ghosts?”
“I never thought of it that way. I keep forgetting I’m not in Springfield anymore, and that everything here is dead.”
“It’s a very different way of life. Or…not life. It’s…just different.” Tinna patted her arm and stopped trying to say words of comfort.
“So you think we should keep going?”
Thatcher shrugged. “Nothing in there is worse than anything out here, except perhaps the Lich, and as he said, he isn’t going to act against you until you prove that you’re going against his wishes.”
