Mashup with reality?

Sometimes, my characters get into my head, and I get into their mode of thought. One of the things I always find amusing is to picture how Azzie, as a Prince of Hell, would react to the mortal viewpoint of certain legends.
For example, one day my BFF Eileen and I were roaming Oakwood Cemetery in Troy. We like to check out allegedly haunted places, plus I love doing black and white photography of the unique stones (remind me to post some one day). As we were walking a path, a car pulled up to us, with a couple in it, and the driver leaned out and asked us if we knew where the gateway to Hell was.
Yes, apparently we just attract these folks.
Both of us know about a lot of local answers, and we both responded with something along the lines of, “Oh, you want Pinewoods cemetery; that’s where the gateway to Hell is supposed to be.”
Now, I believe in a lot of things, but I don’t believe any cemetery is a gateway to Hell. And in the back of my head, I could almost hear Azzie. It actually works into a scene with him and Daryl in the 3rd book, but Azzie’s logic is as follows:
“A gateway to Hell? Why would you think demons would leave something like that open? Do you think we want mortals just wandering in and out? And people are out there looking for these gateways?”
He does have a point, amirite?
